Executive Network Group, a top-end search and select recruitment firm, recognised the importance of having the right staff in place and keeping them motivated.
Seeking a contemporary workplace with a focus on flexible working and collaboration, they acquired a new 3,200 sq ft office in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham. Housed within a Georgian property boasting stunning original features, their vision was to create an inviting and functional workplace for their employees.
Working with a former residential space presented its challenges, with a series of individual smaller rooms, plus a generous proportion of the total area being lost to circulation. We allocated specific uses to each space and created pathways to improve the flow between them. The primary objective was to retain and enhance the unique character of the building while optimising functionality.
This Georgian property now houses a flexible and contemporary workplace for Executive Network Group.
The bar and social area, designed as a distinctive collaborative and social space, is a stand-out feature. It boasts a large TV screen for business meetings, flexible furniture options, a built-in banquette by the window, and even a bar complete with a beer pump.
In the entrance area, a new partition wall accommodates the staff lockers, optimising the available space. The introduction of a tea point further enhances the functionality, providing an area for refreshments and informal gatherings.
The sensitive palette of colours and textures, together with flourishes of modern boldness have blended the building’s original features with modern design elements; the Rhino Design team has created another inspiring and comfortable workspace.
Executive Network Group now has a contemporary office that aligns with their vision of a flexible and collaborative work environment. But more importantly, their close-knit team have a base which they are proud to come back to.
